The Statistical Process Control is a quality control technique that was born almost a century ago through the hands-on research of Walter A. Shewhart, physicist and engineer at the time employed by the company Western Electric.


Definition of Process Capacity

The concept of capability refers to the width of the Gauss’ Bell that characterizes it. In a capacity study, the width of the normal distribution obtained (what we call the Process Voice) is compared with the limits of tolerances (the Voice of the Client).
