For years Twitter has set its roadmap to become an eminently audiovisual platform. Proof of this are the numerous tools and functionalities that have been launched in recent months around the way to use the video on the platform but also the retransmissions of exclusive live events or the creation of specific content for the platform in the United States. thanks to agreements with local television stations or audiovisual producers.
“Twitter has agreements with more than 200 content producers in Spain.”
Just a few days ago Twitter created a specific program for the celebration of the final phase of the University League of Basketball in the United States. But the company’s efforts to make the leap to the audiovisual not only seem to stay in their country of origin, but little by little they begin to reach other countries.
In Spain, for example, a few years ago the social network retransmitió exclusively the ceremony of delivery of the Princess of Asturias Awards and for a time also offered parties in the women’s basketball league.
Twitter has more than 950 content partners around the world and with around 200 content agreements in Spain. To issue sporting events has agreements with Real Madrid Football Club, Barcelona Football Club, LaLiga, Moto GP, the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), La Vuelta… while to share current content the social network has agreements with groups as Editorial Unit, Prisa Noticias, Atresmedia, Mediaset, Mediapro and Eurosport.
Magazines such as Hearst Spain, Axel Springer, Spain Media and Zenith; producers such as Gestmusic (Operación Triunfo), Shine Iberia (MasterChelf) or events such as Primavera Sound, are also among the groups with which Twitter has agreements in the local market for the generation of content.
Last night Twitter held in Madrid the event “Thursday Night Live”, the first content event that celebrates the social network in our country. During the event, in which many of the company’s partners were present for the preparation of contents for the national market, a new strategic alliance was announced.
