After months showing the possible disappearance of its original content, YouTube is vindicated and makes another bet for its own productions. On this occasion, the company is working on a project of interactive series where the user can define the course of the program he is watching.

This new project aims to compete with proposals such as Netflix and the “Bandersnatch” chapter of its series “Black Mirror” or the spinoff of “Wild VS. Man. ” The proposal is in line with what seems an attempt by the producers to bring the audience to the program and create an immersive experience in which viewers are able to make decisions for their characters.
To carry out this project, YouTube will enable a department dedicated to interactive programming and live streaming of exclusive content.
This department will develop the necessary functions to give interactivity to the programs and, in addition, add new tools to the original pre-existing contents. In this regard, an executive of the company has reported that some of the new additions to the social network will be announced shortly.
In the past, YouTube had already experimented with interactive content for its ads. However, this is his first step towards interactive series, which are not yet so common in the market and that would give him the opportunity to gain ground in his competition against Netflix and other series streaming companies.
In any case, the concern that this becomes another failed initiative of the company, is still present. Recall that, just last month, YouTube announced the withdrawal of their original products to focus on their streaming music and video games.
