Snapchat finally responds to the requests of its Android users and reforms the application thoroughly to ensure greater speed and fewer errors in its execution. The change will gradually be incorporated into the different Android platforms and it is expected that by the end of this year it will be fully developed in a new update of the app.
“Since the beginning of Snapchat, the app has had multiple problems running on Android.”
The changes made are intended, among other things, to reduce the loading times of filters and stories by 20%, as well as to simplify screen changes within the app. In addition, Snapchat is working to improve the quality of the image and the camera of the app, which due to the variety of devices with Android operating system, has been one of the biggest challenges of the social network.
Although the app has already begun to incorporate most of the improvements to the Android platforms, there are still certain features that remain exclusive for iOS. An example of this are the Snapchat Charms, a prize awarded by the app for the interaction between users, who have not yet appeared in its version for Android devices.
Since the beginning of Snapchat, the app has had multiple problems running on the Android operating system. Several reports and complaints from users in social networks called the attention of their executives and that’s when they started the restructuring of the app.
Android users are a large majority within Snapchat, which just two years ago positioned the social network among the five most downloaded apps on their devices. That is why the social network has devoted all its efforts to improve the platform and avoid a leak of users like the one it faced in 2018.
