Users of Apple’s smart watches in Europe are in luck: thanks to the update of the watchOS 5.2 operating system, electrocardiograms can now be made with this wearable.

The cya operating system is available to all Apple Watch users. Lately iOS 12.2, tvOS 12.2 and macOS 10.14.4 have been updated and now also the new version of the operating system has arrived for the watch of the brand whose most striking novelty is the electrocardiogram.

Related to the news that has reached the iPhone, the update corrects some errors from previous versions and is available in the Software Update tab. To be able to download it you must have more than 50% battery.

In addition to the electrocardiogram, new spheres have been included in different colors that will be enabled for users of the Apple Watch special edition.

The electrocardiogram in Apple Watch

The electrocardiogram is the update that has most attracted attention in Apple Watch. Time after doing it in the United States, it has finally been implemented in Europe. Through a striking interface you can see the results that the clock will extract from the user’s behavior every 30 seconds.

An electrocardiogram is the measurement of the electrical activity of the heart. It is a test that is usually done in the doctor for prevention, revisions to athletes or when someone has had health problems. It is clear that Apple Watch data will not be as conclusive as a visit to the doctor, but can serve as guidance to users.

Among what the Apple Watch will measure with the electrocardiogram is the heart rate, the unusual rhythm and, more striking, it will detect irregular heart rate and atrial fibrillation. In the event that you discover an anomaly, you will notify so that the user knows that they may have a health problem and decide whether to go to the doctor.

But Apple has reported that these metrics do not replace the reviews that each should be made in the doctor and does not detect heart attacks or stroke. It is a simple help that is given to the user but lacks responsibility for his health.
