Facebook wants to finance influencers to make content for Facebook Watch, the video platform of the social network. During the last months, representatives of the social network have met with producers with the aim of designing different shows featuring influencers with a large number of followers on Facebook, Instagram and other social networks.

Facebook Watch has 400 million monthly users.”

The idea is quite simple. Facebook puts the money, and the influencers a lot of audience. At the moment it is looking to create six to eight shows with each associate producer, and according to some sources, on Facebook would be willing to pay up to $ 200,000 for a series of eight episodes.

The programs produced under this initiative would not be original property of Facebook. The social network would have an exclusivity license for three months and then the rights would go back to the production company.

It is not the first initiative of Facebook to attract influencers to Watch. Last June, 120 of these personalities were invited to the first “Creator Day”, an event organized by the social network in which the company showed the potential of Watch.

Part of the attraction for these influencers is the possibility of making money in Watch. Jay Shetty, dedicated to self-help, is a good example, since it has 20 million followers and last year earned a million dollars just with advertising.

The final goal of Facebook with Watch is that the programming of the platform is totally self-sustaining with the revenues generated by advertising. Therefore, from the social network want the largest possible audience, which happens through own large-scale projects such as Eventually, the series with the star of the NBA Stephen Curry.
