More than 610 million professionals use LinkedIn all over the world, according to data released by Microsoft’s social network, which bought the platform at the end of 2016.

LinkedIn has updated the document “About Us” on its website, where it explains that it has already exceeded the 610 million professionals who interact in the social network. However, it does not detail it is a count of active profiles, as it happens in other platforms such as Facebook. In this case, only the number of profiles registered in the platform is being counted, since it refers only to “members”.

Be that as it may, the company has also shown how those 610 million “registered” users are distributed around the world (it is present in more than 200 nations).

The market that has the most LinkedIn users is the United States, logical, because that is where the platform was created 16 years ago. There he has 157 million profiles. In second place is China, with more than 45 million profiles created, and in third position, Brazil, where there are more than 36 million registered.

Along with this data, LinkedIn has also provided others that detail the way in which the social network is used. For example, it is established that 40% of the members of the social network access each day to consult their profile or the job offers that are shown in it, or to contact other professionals.

In the last year, the number of comments, “I like you” and shared has grown 60% on the platform. In addition, according to LinkedIn, 45% of the traffic that reaches the companies’ websites comes from LinkedIn.

Finally, LinkedIn says that 61 million of its 610 million users are experienced influencers in their decision areas. In addition, 40 million are responsible for making decisions in their companies, which makes them high-level contacts.
