Investors have explained that the board has not complied with or maintained confidentiality in certain cases. Specifically, the malaise is especially directed at the main executive heads and the members of the company’s committee, including Larry Page and Sergey Brin among others.
“Rubin was allowed to quietly resign by defendants Larry Page and Sergey Brin after an internal investigation determined that Rubin’s allegations of sexual harassment were credible.”

Rubin is the creator of Android, the most used operating system in the world, and was the one who led Google’s mobile division, until he left the company in 2014.
Thus, in October 2018, The New York Times newspaper reported that Google executives approved a $ 90 million 4-year payment package for Rubin, after the latter was accused of sexual harassment.
In November thousands of people who worked at Google carried out a work stoppage in protest of the action taken by the company regarding Rubin’s sexual misconduct at work.
Google board members approved the Rubin share subsidy in 2014, after the investigation into the allegations against them began.
Thus, a group of employees of Google has affirmed on Thursday that they support the demands presented by the shareholders. “We have all the evidence we need that Google’s leadership does not have our best interests at heart,” they explained.
It is not the first time that Google is accused of something similar, since in 2016 Amit Singhal was allowed to resign silently, having been singled out for sexual harassment at work. Singhal was fired from Uber Technologies in 2017.
The board’s audit and compensation committees, made up of nine members, reviewed the reported facts about the complaints against Rubin in 2014, and affirmed that the allegations were true, as explained in the complaint.
“The behavior of Rubin and other executives was disgusting, illegal, immoral, demeaning to women and contrary to all the principles that Google says it respects,” the complaint explains.
Ellen Winick Stross, Rubin’s attorney, in a statement sent on Thursday night, signs that “this lawsuit, like much of the media’s recent coverage, misrepresents Andy’s departure from Google and sensationalizes the claims made about Andy by his ex-wife. Andy denies any wrongdoing, and we will vigorously defend it against these unsubstantiated claims. ” Google explained to its employees that in October it had fired 48 people for sexual harassment in the last two years.
