And there is much talk of the imminent problem that is coming with the arrival of artificial intelligence (AI); the human tasks relegated and an increase in the unemployment rate due to the massive production of robots to perform multiple jobs.

Maybe these technologies are not present all over the world nor is it regular to see them in most of the companies, what is a fact is that their implementation and inclusion will be something gradual and definitive.

It might be easy to understand why this is a concern, the problem is that we are not analyzing the issue at its root. The reason why we developed these “robots” or these intelligent platforms, in the first instance, was to facilitate many of the usual tasks.

However, it does not seem that we see it as an achievement, but as a terrible threat.

When the reality is that AI and its diverse applications serve as tools to improve our skills and talents, streamlining processes, both work and ordinary.

The problem starts with the understanding about the subject, or rather, the lack of knowledge. We are disturbed by the idea of ​​an apocalyptic future -and perhaps with due reason-, but that so feared “future” is precisely the present that we are living.

If you have ever used a navigation system application, a music streaming site or even a social platform as popular as Facebook, I am afraid to tell you that “you have been a victim of AI”.

We must understand that there are certain tasks for which the machines are much more efficient, and many others in which their implementation would be irrelevant or practically impossible.

We never imagined that the arrival of the internet would generate the largest database in the world. Manipulating this huge amount of information is not practical or simple for a human being. What does correspond to us is to take all those decisions of vital importance with the information and findings that the machines provide us and present.

Which leads us to the conclusion that the human being will always be superior in tasks that involve strategy, creativity and capacity for decision.

However, when it comes to mechanical and repetitive tasks, or the processing and ordering of abysmal quantities of information, computers or machines have been shown to be much more precise and accurate, reducing – or practically eliminating – the resulting human error as a result of same.

This in turn opens the doors to a new synergy where the human acquires a much more protagonist role, since he will no longer have to perform mechanical and repetitive tasks in which he worked, literally, like a robot.

Companies begin to relocate staff in much more strategic and significant positions where each employee can reveal their true talent and essence as a human being.

So beyond the machines or robots conquer us and dominate our species, they will be strategic allies for the progress of humanity. They are nothing more than a reflection of the continuous improvement of the human being, of the technological advance that is gaining special momentum in our time.

Companies must accept the change

Anyone born before the 21st century will understand how abrupt technological advances have been in the last two decades.

Today, machines are capable of doing things that we would have considered inconceivable no more than a decade ago. And that is precisely the goal, to make artificial intelligence less artificial and more intelligent.

Just as human beings are capable of learning based on practice and experience, machines can also do so through machine learning. And go that this is extremely helpful when putting it on the balance, because these findings, learning, trends and success patterns are used to make much more successful and successful decisions.

This type of tasks will facilitate more and more the work of people in the areas of marketing and sales, since they are areas that demand precision in the decision-making whose main objective is the attraction of potential clients.

What is the panorama that awaits us?

In effect, there will be some mechanical works that are replaced by machines, which in turn will cause a repositioning of people in strategic positions that, even, do not yet exist and very surely will arise in the future.

Take for example agriculture, which approximately a century ago generated more than half of the population’s jobs and now less than 1% of the population works in that sector…

Remember that whenever new technologies or fields of study arise, they require an important percentage of labor. It is a situation that we have seen repeated repeatedly and that is not about to change.

In fact, unemployment has been decreasing as technology advances, and this is due to the new tasks that need to be addressed; the same reason why new professional careers constantly appear.

It seems that exciting times are coming and it is an excellent time to be alive. We do not know exactly how long the change will happen or how drastic it will be, but there are many who say that it will positively impact the economies of the world.

If there is one thing that is certain, if the impact of AI increases productivity, companies will be able to sell more; which will mean more money available for workers, and a more optimistic outlook in general terms.
